CUPRA has strengthened its commitment to one of the world's fastest-growing sports by becoming the Official Automotive Partner of LTA Padel.
The partnership marks another significant milestone in CUPRA's long-standing relationship with padel and further establishes the brand as a driving force behind the sport's continued growth globally.
As part of the multi-year agreement, CUPRA will become the Official Automotive Partner to LTA Padel and title partner of the CUPRA LTA Padel National League, the largest team-based padel competition in Great Britain. The partnership also includes support for the LTA Padel British Tour, LTA Padel National Championships and Great Britain's national padel teams.
Tom Murray, Head of Padel at LTA, said, "CUPRA has already shown itself to be a committed partner to padel through its relationships on the global stage with the likes of Premier Padel and the CUPRA FIP Tour.
"To have a partner that not only has a deep understanding of the sport, but also a keen desire to see it flourish, will help to take British padel’s competitions and national teams to the next level, and we look forward to working with CUPRA towards that shared goal.”
Marcus Gossen, Managing Director of SEAT and CUPRA UK, added, “Padel embodies everything CUPRA stands for. It's dynamic, disruptive and fast-growing, which is why we've partnered with LTA Padel to strengthen our position as the leading automotive supporter of padel in the UK and across the world.
"We look forward to working with LTA Padel to provide more opportunities for people to step onto the court and experience the energy and excitement that makes padel one of the world's fastest-growing sports.”
Padel continues to experience remarkable growth in Great Britain, with participation increasing rapidly in recent years and new courts opening across the country. Latest figures show that there are now 1,000,000 players in Britain, compared to just 15,000 in 2019. The growth is supported by rapidly expanding infrastructure with 1,825 courts across 551 venues.
CUPRA has been at the forefront of padel’s international growth since 2019, supporting projects and events that share its ambition to challenge the status quo. The brand's international partnerships include Premier Padel, the International Padel Federation including the CUPRA FIP Tour, and its global roster of CUPRA Padel Tribe pro ambassadors.
CUPRA has played a key role in raising awareness of padel in Great Britain through partnerships with leading clubs and events, including the inaugural London Premier Padel P1, creating opportunities for customers and local communities to experience the sport first-hand.
