Aimee Gibson wins FIP Bronze title in Morocco

British No.1 Aimee Gibson secured her second title of the season after winning the FIP Bronze Shell Casablanca in Morocco alongside Spanish partner Eugenia Guimet.
The top seeds produced a dominant performance throughout the week, dropping just one set on their way to lifting the trophy.
Their most challenging match came against third-seeded Spaniards Ana Cristina Sanchez Perez and Natalia Molinilla Paniagua in a semi-final that lasted three hours and 30 minutes, with both pairs battling through 37-degree heat.
Gibson and Guimet won the match 4-6, 7-5, 7-6(8) to set up a final with the second seeds, Maria Laura Ferreyra from Argentina, and Matilde Minelli from Italy. The top seeds showed their strength and came through to win the final 6-4, 6-2.
The victory marks Gibson's first tournament win since returning from injury and continues an impressive season for the British No.1, who is currently ranked 93 in the FIP rankings.
“I’m really really happy to win the FIP Bronze in Casablanca. It’s my first tournament win since my injury. I’ve got to three finals since my injury so it’s really nice to win a title again as you never know when it’s going to happen again. I’m really grateful to be feeling healthy and fit.”
“I’m really proud of winning this tournament after such a tough match in the semi-finals. We played against the number three seeds, and we saved three match points and won 7-6 in the third set with the match lasting three hours 30 mins in 37 degrees. It was probably the hardest match I think I’ve played so far in my career in terms of the conditions.”
The FIP Tour is a professional-level circuit officially sanctioned by the International Padel Federation (FIP) and is the first stage of the professional padel circuit, featuring four levels of competition - bronze, silver, gold, and platinum.
Gibson now turns her attention to this week's FIP Silver Guimarães in Portugal before travelling to Madrid with Great Britain for the FIP World Cup 2026 Qualifiers. “I can’t wait to be with the team, and represent Great Britain again,” said Gibson.
Elsewhere on the FIP Tour, Christian Medina Murphy enjoyed a semi-final run at the FIP Silver Utrecht alongside Spanish partner Alberto Garcia Jimenez, rising to No.150 in the latest FIP rankings. Victoria Nicholas and Chloe De La Mare also impressed in the Netherlands, reaching the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Following a successful weekend on the international stage, Great Britain now has two players inside the world's top 100 and five within the top 200 of the FIP rankings, underlining the continued growth of British talent on the professional circuit.
