How to play padel more often: Clubs, coaching & competitions

If you’ve played padel once or twice and want to start playing more regularly, you might be wondering:

  • How do I join a padel club?
  • Where can I find local padel competitions?
  • How do I meet other players at my level?
  • How can I sign up to coaching courses?

Check out our essential guide on how to play more padel – including how to join a padel club, joining coaching sessions, competing in fun matches, finding social padel groups and more.

How to join a padel club in your area

Become a part of your local padel community by joining a club or venue near you.

There are a wide variety of padel venues across Great Britain with more continuing to be developed – so you’re sure to find a padel venue near you.

By joining a club or venue, you’ll likely get greater access to their courts and facilities throughout the year as well as any activities, social groups and events they run – from beginner sessions to inter-club tournaments.

Use our online search tool to find your nearest padel venue and get in touch with them to find out more about what they offer and how you can play more padel. Look out for LTA registered venues so you know it's a safe place to play.

Sign up for padel group coaching sessions

Group padel coaching sessions are a great way to get started and play more regularly.

These sessions are often run by LTA Accredited padel coaches, who are on hand to help you develop your skills and improve your game.

Group coaching sessions are also a great way to find people to play padel with outside of organised lessons as well.

There are group sessions for all ages and abilities so you’re sure to find something for you.

You can find a nearby padel coach using our online search tool and get in touch to learn more about the sessions they run and what might be best for your current level.

How to enter local padel competitions and leagues

Playing in local padel competitions is a great way to practice your skills with other people at a similar level.

Padel competitions involve fun and friendly matches against other players in your local area. You can sign up with a partner or join a competition and the organisers will try to find someone for you to compete alongside.

Many padel clubs and venues run their own types of competitions and matchplays that you can get involved in, or you can search for your nearest LTA tournament.

For beginners to intermediate players looking to start competing or get some more match experience, we would recommend either a Grade 5 – Local Tour or Grade 4 – County Tour competition.

How to find padel social groups and players near you

With padel becoming more and more popular, there are an increasing number of online social padel groups that organise their own padel sessions.

These social groups are often run by players, for players, with people joining from all ages and backgrounds with one thing in common – a love for padel.

Try searching on social media for padel groups in your local area and reach out to them for more information on how to get involved.

Get involved in padel volunteering

Away from playing, volunteering is another great way to get more involved and grow your passion for padel.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the sport and they make it possible for more and more people in their community to pick up a racket and start playing.

You don’t need any playing experience, there are plenty of ways to support padel in your local area - from utilising your nearby courts to volunteering at padel competitions.

Find out more about becoming a volunteer below, or contact your nearest padel venue to discover how you can make a difference.
