British No.2 Catherine Rose has won her second FIP title of 2026, winning the FIP Silver Damac Dubai with her Spanish partner, Lucia Perez Parra.
The second seeds enjoyed a comfortable run to the final, winning the title without dropping a set. In the semi-finals, they delivered an impressive performance to beat third-seeded Spaniards Jimena Diaz De La Iglesia and Alba Vazquez Gracia 6-4 6-1.
They then carried that momentum into the final, overcoming the unseeded pair of Angela Caro Cantin from Spain and Gimena Sol Perez of Argentina 7-5 6-1 to claim the FIP Silver title.
Rose, who is currently ranked world No.111 in the world and has had a career high ranking of world No.94, reflected on her first FIP Silver title win of the year saying, “I’m over the moon, it’s my fifth title, my second title of the year and my third FIP Silver title. We had to beat some really strong pairs to win the title.
“I played some of my best padel this tournament, my level improved match by match. I loved every moment on court this week most importantly,” said Rose.
“After a tough loss in last week’s final, I spoke with my coach and set myself a personal goal for this tournament, to play freely, and to enjoy and express myself on court. I feel like my best padel came out, especially in the second set of the final.
"I’m really proud of myself, coming from a bit of a mentally tough place in the final last week where I wasn’t happy with how I played, my game and my level. To bounce back with a really strong week of training and then perform the way I did, I’m really proud of myself.
“I’d like to thank all my sponsors, R3, Light Therapy London, The Padel Hub, Bullpadel and of course the LTA. I’d also like to thank all my coaches, those in Dubai as well as back at home in London. All my friends and family and everyone who supports me. It all helps and go towards these moments.”
The FIP Tour is a professional-level circuit officially sanctioned by the International Padel Federation (FIP) and is the first stage of the professional padel circuit, featuring four levels of competition - bronze, silver, gold, and platinum.
Rose is set for a week of training before travelling to Italy to compete at the FIP Bronze Cordenons.
“I’m really motivated to go and keep pushing on. Nothing will motivate me more than winning on court. I’m looking forward to the next few competitions and what the rest of the season has in store!”
Elsewhere, GB No.3 Tia Norton enjoyed a strong run at the FIP Bronze in Matosinhos, Portugal, alongside Portuguese partner Catarina Santos Domingos. The top seeds progressed to the final, where they faced second seeds Marianela Montesi of Italy and Portugal’s Margarida Fernandes.
After a closely contested match, the Italian-Portuguese duo edged the victory in three sets, with the final score reading 6-5 7-6 6-4.
There was further British success at the FIP Promises Cardiff, an international junior padel event that gives top young players the opportunity to earn world ranking points on home soil.
In the U18 category, top-ranked British player Ben Phillips claimed the title alongside fellow Brit Conchise Inde Bennett. British players also celebrated success across several of the younger age categories.
