National teams
Each year, the International Padel Federation (FIP) stages major championships, including the FIP Euro Padel Cup and the World Championships, across a variety of age group categories from juniors through to seniors.
We select players to represent GB in these events through a selection process that sets out the various criteria for eligibility and is reviewed by a selection panel.
Here's everything you need to know about the GB national teams and the selection process.
To be considered for attendance and possible selection to a GB National Team, players will need to demonstrate the behaviours, skills and performance standards within the following events:
- LTA British Tour / Grade 1 and Grade 2 events
- FIP sanctioned events
Players who have stood out to a member of the LTA Padel Performance team may be invited to attend a National Training Camp.
Our National Training Camps bring the leading padel players across Great Britain together to train under the guidance of our national coaching team.
The camps will see players receive weekly world-class group training sessions from our National Performance Coach, Sandy Farquharson, as well as working with National Performance Pathway Manager Libby Fletcher to develop Individual Development Plans that will support and tailor training their specific goals.
Players who continually demonstrate the behaviours, skills and performance standard expected, will be invited to become a full member of our National Training Programme.
The GB youth pathway was first introduced in 2024, with two initial training groups being created at U14 and U18 level.
Throughout 2025, the two training groups will continue to come together for national training camps on designated weekends and during school holidays. There, they will be given the opportunity to work with national coaches to further develop their skills.
